How Haiti's Mulattoes and Syro-Lebanese or Whites Ruined Haiti

Unless you live under a rock you probably know that HAITI was the singular victorious slave revolt against a European Colonizer (i.e., France - The America of its time) that culminated into a victory of the former African slaves over their European/White masters. It was a brutal one, they wanted the White man's skin as paper and his blood as ink to write their declaration of independence after a voodoo celebration at a place called "Bois Cayman". There was a Jamaican named BOOKMAN who was there too who helped lead the revolt. See, we are all ONE as BLACKS when we decide to be united.

During slavery there were many ranks. They were along the lines of "Big Blacks" (i.e., Head Negro in Chief), "Small Blacks", Mulattoes, "Big Whites" and "Small Whites" etc. The mulattoes came about when the White Masters had children with the Black female slaves and eventually, they started creating their own elite group since they had more direct access to the Whites, and later on they were joined by newly arrived Syrians, Lebanese people and Whites to create THE HAITIAN BOURGEOSIE along with "The Big Blacks", who more often than not were Sell-outs that the Bourgeoisie was using to control things vicariously.

This Mulatto-White Bourgeoisie was the beginning of COLORISM in Haiti as with access to money, they established what was beautiful and influenced young minds, sort of like what White Americans did to former Black American slaves. But in Haiti, in order to beat the French, they had to have "THE UNIFICATION OF THE BLACKS and the MULATTOES", which was led by the amazing JEAN-JACQUES DESSALINES after the SMARTEST BLACK EVER, Toussaint Louverture went to France to get a top general accolade and was betrayed by the enemy. But right after they won, a Mulatto leader took control of the Northern part of the land (Haiti's portion of the Island), while a Black leader controlled the Southern portion. It became more complicated because the MULATTO had carried his/White father's characteristics in that s/he did not want to be led by the Black leaders. This was the start of Haiti's colorism. Haiti should have controlled the entire island of Hispaniola shared by the Dominican Republic, but the Mulatto leader decided to side with the Dominicans in order to prevent the Black leader from becoming his leader. All the Whites were removed except the POLES (due to being the only Europeans that were anti-slavery or pro-freedom) and until today we have descendants of Polish people in Southern part of Haiti.

For instance, FRANCOIS "PAPA DOC" DUVALIER, who became President for Life was rejected from medical school admission in Haiti only because he was TOO BLACK. Accordingly, he ended up going to Medical School abroad and became a Podiatrist. Upon returning, he worked hard in the country sides to treat patients with foot issues and eventually became minister of health and then gave a coup d'etat that culminated into him becoming PRESIDENT FOR LIFE. Subsequently, he exiled or killed most if not all Mulattoes and Blacks who opposed him. This is why the first group of Haitians that moved to the US and Canada were called geniuses. They were the cream of the crop of Haiti who were true intellectuals, who spoke 4 to 5 languages and were very versed in all academic subjects. The IRONY is that Jean Claude "BABY DOC" Duvalier, his son who took over after his death, ended up marrying a Mulatto named Michelle Benett, and I'm sure that his father turned in his grave, and that certainly contributed to the country's demise. She's said to have purchased million-dollar fur coats that had to be refrigerated in Haiti's tropical climate.

In a nutshell, the mulattoes, Syrians, Whites, "Big Blacks" are the reasons why Haiti did not control the whole island or better yet succeed. After the Colonizers were ousted, they became the new source of mistreatments by calling everything their inheritance or those of their spouses as they intermarry. They showed preference among color lines and treated the Whites, mulattoes, Syrian and Lebanese people better than they treat the other groups.

And since mostly highly educated Haitians who wanted to have access to that upper class had to attend schools that were run and controlled by them, they learned to choose along class and color lines. For instance, my mother had French lineage with mixed ancestry and thus she and her sister were fair-skinned, while my father had pure African ancestry. Yet, my father begged my mother to go out with him by gaining access to my mother's employer, who asked my mom to accord my father that favor. My father was determined to have a fair-skinned woman. I am sure he thought of it as more favorable so that his children would be lighter complected than he was. This is how pervasive colorism is in Haiti.

Until today, many Haitian skin-bleach or view people that are lighter-complected as more attractive. I used to hate that... I always loved my father's skin tone a lot and wanted to be as dark as he was (smile). Thus, even though my brother and I were called the "the boys with nice skin" by others, I secretly resented it and wanted to be darker like the other Haitians.

Even as of today, HAITI is still controlled by the same type of bourgeoise, who intermarry and make money off of the Black majority all while they control the country financially.

I believe that such elements should either be offered opportunity to compromise for the betterment of the country or be removed/exiled from the country as they use their money to determine who gets into power and if they can't control any current leader, then they conspire with their US connection to have a coup or they hire armed mercenaries to kill the him like they did recently with Jonevel Moise (the last democratically elected president of Haiti). I personally don't that bourgeoisie and believe that they are 80% of the reasons why Haiti has failed as nation because they have been inducing Haitians not to like Blackness or trust their African ancestry enough (except the voodoo that some practice) and would do whatever I could to immediately expel them should I ever become president of Haiti. It started with the conspiracy of that Mulatto leader with the Dominicans to prevent Black leadership from controlling the entire island. The Dominicans were already convinced by Spain to believe that they were White no matter how dark they were. And until today those dynamics control Haiti, which explains the inferiority complexes, skin-bleaching and mistreatments of Haitians by Dominicans even though there has been at least one Dominican president who was of Haitian ancestry.

Thus, Haiti is an enigma. It is a nation comprised of mostly people of African descent controlled by mostly non-Africans (e.g., Syrians, Lebanese, White and others) and a few "Big Blacks". And the latter behave as if they are "FRENCH" and even speak French in most important functions even though they know most Haitians did not go to the top schools or have never been to France or communicated with a French person. My father from whom I learned French the first time (then 3 more times in my lifetime including French literature) enjoyed speaking French with all high-profiled friends and as a kid I could walk into my doctor's office or pharmacy or other places with no money and my father would just pay later. I recall my father being able to do things in 24 hours that others could not do in a month due to his CLASS LEVEL and his French speaking ability. I guess he was a BIG BLACK (smile)

Lastly, the question is based on how the Mulattoes and non-Blacks live in Haiti and their contribution or lack thereof, a good question to them would be, despite being born in Haiti, do they consider themselves Haitian and if so, why have the corrupted the minds of young Haitians as to not have them feel a stronger connection to Africa (other than voodoo)? It's racist, stupid and evil. I know many Haitians who don't act African, have never visited Africa and have never seen a successful African. And unless a Black person has been around successful Africans who were never enslaved, s/he does not fully know what it's like to be TRULY BLACK and HAPPY!

Haiti needs a renaissance, a revival of its African ancestry to revive the African spirits that gave it its indigence while remembering its history. I once saw a Billboard in Haiti that read: "WE ARE NOT FRENCH, WE ARE NOT AFRICAN; WE ARE HAITIAN". While I understand the unique history, I believe that Haitians are primarily African and thus it came from a denial of their African ancestry induced by its exposure to Mulattoes, Whites, Syrians and others that controlled it yet had no interest in Afrocentricity and thus denied children of African ancestry from basking into the souls of their ancestors through relevant story telling.

I recall Haitians uttering things like:

"From our days in Africa the negro hated the negro", OR

Uttering the word "Congo" (name of an African country) to refer to an unrefined Black person.

I also recall the era of HAIR STREGNTHENING (e.g., via PERMS, hot ironing), and SKIN BLEACHING, which to me came from the exposure to Mulattoes and Whites and desire to look like the ELITE. Of course, my late mother was adored because she looked like she was of mixed ancestry and people treated her like she was from heaven wherever she went. But my dad was treated like a "BIG BLACK" and thus treated well not for his color but for his status.

But, anyhow, the HAITIAN BOURGEOUSIE is composed of a bunch of PARASITES who don't care about people of AFRICAN-DESCENT and only see them as tools for commerce or self-enrichment. Haiti must find a way to get rid of them if it is to progress. Hopefully, it won't take assassinations like the US did with the Iranian leaders, but that may have to be the case in the end. However, unfortunately, 99% of intellectuals that came from the institutions controlled by such people are useless for Haiti because many of them are more aristocratically minded than their former colonizers due to their exposures to such aforementioned characters. But we cannot forget the influence of the US government and that of US Characters like the Clintons.
