Black WEALTH TRANSFER & DISSIPATION - A Self-defeating Sad Reality

Let me start by saying that MOST BLACKS (particularly, Blacks in America) suffer from an INFERIORITY COMPLEX... WAIT, WAIT, WAIT... before you start attacking me, let's simply agree on the known definition for inferiority complex.

"In·fe·ri·or·i·ty com·plex"

/inˌfirēˈôrədē ˌkämpleks/

noun

an unrealistic feeling of general inadequacy caused by actual or supposed inferiority in one sphere, sometimes marked by aggressive behavior in compensation.

Prior to proceeding to the task at hand, let's bottom line the source of this complex. It is from a past about which many Blacks aren't too proud. A past in which they felt rejected, unappreciated, unworthy and often unloved because of the color of their skin or race or even the type of neighborhood in which they lived. Thus, naturally, many Blacks go out of their way to try to dissociate themselves with that past. Some even stay away from their old neighborhoods, friends, relatives altogether. Many move to White areas and associate mainly with White friends. In fact, many won't think of anything as upscale unless it is linked to wealthier Whites. It is coping mechanism that acts as a pseudo-erasure of their past by dissociating themselves with an often-troublesome past, which far too often is linked to Black interactions and faces.

TUPAK SHAKUR is known to have said that "Nig** don't respect or like Nig** because Nig** remind Nig** of themselves or their old selves. Nig** walk like Nig**, talk like Nig** and smell like Nig**". TUPAK was actually a philosopher masquerading as a rapper. It took me a while to so realize. Intellectuals (people who used their intellect critically) come in different forms and from different walks of life.

Essentially, this is the source of most modern Black dissociation. The truth is that far too many Blacks would prefer to deal with other groups because so much of their past is linked to traumatic situations that are linked with other Blacks.

NOW that we have defined the source of LACK OF UNITY, let's proceed to the WEALTH TRANSFER MATTER.

Far Too Many Wealthy Black Men are MARRYING (Not Just Dating) Non-Black Women.
Far Too Many Wealthy Black Men are MARRYING (Not Just Dating) Non-Black Women.

Today, far too many of America's wealthiest Blacks are married to non-Black wives. While there is nothing wrong with that on the surface, let's quickly posit that no other men marry outside of their race more than Black men do. The question is WHY?

Well, it is based on an INFERIORITY COMPLEX. A feeling of being legally connected to an entity that previously rejected him and now all of a sudden because of HIS WEALTH, it is attainable. It is analogous to the guy who acquires a Bentley. Undoubtedly, he knows that VALUE-WISE, the Bentley is not worth the money, however, he is getting it for the STATUS SYMBOL.

Comparatively, many Blacks who would have been ignored by Whites had they not been wealthy find themselves marrying Whites because of their Wealth (and of course, the converse is also true - many Whites who would not have dated certain types of Blacks ended up with them because they are STATUS SYMBOLS as well.)

But the larger point is WEALTH TRANSFER. Dating can fun with the right dates (at least to me it is); and I have personally enjoyed dating people of all races and believe you me, I've had a ball doing so. However, marriage is about a contractual relationship in which rights are automatically conferred, and financial support is nearly guaranteed. Thus, essentially, marriage is mostly about guaranteeing wealth transfer if one goes beyond the honeymoon phase of a wedding and all the niceties. To prove it, wealthy men have been increasingly using prenuptial (ante-nuptial) agreements to ensure that their new brides are not marrying them just for their money (i.e., that is their gold-digging prevention technique.)

So, why are so many WEALTHY BLACK MEN marrying White or non-Black Women?

The answer has to be both based on their "INFERIORITY COMPLEX" and the need to feel that their wealth helped them have a woman that they would have not normally had otherwise especially as a Black men, who far too often come from economically disadvantaged or disenfranchised areas, particularly if a Black man goes from "The Hood" to Hollywood overnight. The latter can do a number even on the best of brains.

While I understand why people like Oprah had to have mostly Whites on her staff because she couldn't find highly qualified Blacks in her days (I have been there before as a young executive in my late 20's), I still feel that even Oprah try too hard to associate herself mostly with Whites with Stedman (an apparent biracial), Gayle and Maya Angelou being the only exceptions to me.

So, let's name some names:

  • America's richest or second richest Black man, Robert F. Smith, had divorced his Black wife to marry a White woman.

  • Michael Jordan (Our Airness), the most prolific Athlete of all time, divorced his Black wife to marry a White/Cuban Woman.

  • The late Great Kobe Bryant married a White/non-Black woman, and all of his wealth will have been transferred mostly to her and in a few generations, no one will be able to identify that wealth as Black wealth and it will not have circulated an IOTA in the Black community.

  • Sir Charles Barkley is another one.

  • John Legend is yet another one.

  • My boy Kanye West did have a case of the Jungle Fever too. But his probably had to do with Kardashians preying on successful Black men to achieve wealth themselves.

  • Tiger Woods - is he even half-Black because he dates/marries Blonde White women more than most White men (smiling). He actually reminds me of O.J. Simpson.

  • Tina Turner married a White man and moved to Europe where she lived until her death.

  • Janet Jackson had previously married an Arab man, but at least it made her some money (smile.)

  • Serena and Venus Williams lately also married White men.

  • Dr. Thabuteau (First Haitian Billionaire) - Is also married to a White woman.

  • Byron Donalds - Congressman out of Southwest, Florida.

  • Clarence Thomas (U.S. Supreme Court Justice)

  • Others include Jordan Peele, Seal, Sidney Poitier, Iman, Taye Diggs, Mellody Hobson, Jodie Turner-Smith, Eddie Murphy and Halle Berry.

You get the idea.

Do you know how much money went from the pockets of Black Althletes (who subsequently became poor) to those of non-Black communities? You do your own research. And you'll realize it is enough money to save entire Black neighborhoods. And the latter is also attributable to Black inferiorty complexes.

How about the level of money that goes from the pocket of Black women to Wealthy Asians via unnecessary accessories (e.g., fake hair) alone? Simply do your own research.

Yet, they are all talking about racial discrimination, yet nothing has been more discriminatory than their choice to marry outside their race. This is hypocritical at best folks and 100% self-defeating as a race.

In short, in less than TWO GENERATIONS, most of those people will have had children who don't look like them at all. In the case of Michael Jackson, the children were clearly not his and are actually Caucasian. Accordingly, the wealth that is transferred to their mother and then to them will not have made its way to disadvantaged Black areas and thus will not have circulated in them at all. In fact, a White person is 99% more likely to tap into THAT VERY BLACK-GENIUS CREATED WEALTH than any other Black person on Earth.

I haven't said one lie yet (by the way.)

BOTTOM LINE

===========

Great people think generationally. And because, as Blacks, most of us DO NOT yet, we cannot be called GREAT as a people yet, because for the most part, we DO NOT think generationally enough. We have become way too materialistic. To be candid, we have become worse than the very people that we criticize because at least they do thake care of their own. We need some serious self-reevealuation as a people. WE SERIOUSLY DO! I KID YOU NOT and it frustrated the heck out of me at times because it is so obvious. Yet, I watch our elders speak quite obliviously about it from a FOREVER-VICTIM standpoint.

How is that working out for us?

We are still discriminated against. And we are still talking about the very things that our grandparents were talking about. WHY? We don't mind out business and let others who don't have our best interests in mind do it for us or acquire our wealth via management or marriage (the two Ms.) We are being STUPID as a people.

Yes, we can be called resilient or courageous, but we are NOT great yet.

TRIBALISM and INFERIORITY COMPLEXES are killing us. Many of us spend more on image enhancement than we do on our children. Some of us are even bleaching our skins and doing whatever it takes to mask our inferiority complexes.

To be fair, other groups do it as well to some extent. In a way, all non-Whites are trying hard to approach wealthy, White-male-set standards and are in a forever approaching standards mode due to the same type of "INFERIORITY COMPLEX" (i.e., a consistent feeling of INADEQUACY, often resulting in the belief that they are in some way deficient, or inferior, to others.)

While I am willing to give Black women a pass on the BLONDE HAIR and BLUE EYES matter because all other women do it too, I can't give BLACK MEN a pass on marrying WHITE WOMEN the moment (or seconds after) they sign a major contract or acquire substantial wealth. REALLY NEGRO? "IS YOU THAT STUPID?"

BOB MARLEY IS KNOWN TO HAVE SAID:

"Some people are SO POOR that all they value or have is THEIR MONEY."

This the case of far too many WEALTHY BLACKS...

All they have is their money. They often have NO COUNTRY or COMMUNITY to which they can run because they were too busy adopting others' communities instead of creating or enhancing their own. There are some rare exceptions (e.g., Magic Johson and a minority of others, but for the most part, WEALTHY BLACKS get an F- in this department.)

As Blacks, we need to stop lying to ourselves. The fact is that other than with things that have to do with our NATURAL TALENTS (e.g., music, sports), THE MAJORITY OF US haven't fostered enough innovation in our own countries, states, and neighborhoods. We haven't been our brothers'/sisters' keepers enough.

Thus, while individually, we can try to overcompensate with high-end degrees and credentials, when people are looking at the majority of Blacks and their current states Worldwide, they are still saying "STILL A NIG**", and until we realize that we can't rise well without rising together, racial discrimination will persist, whether it's against Black Haitians or Blacks from Compton, CA and if the White person only marries you when you become MJ or Serena Williams, he is not really marrying you, he is marrying/acquiring your ENTITY or WEALTH.

While Whites have their own problems, this article is mainly about The Black Wealth dilemma.

As a side note, the BLACK WOMAN has had to become a natural over-compensator in credentials and accomplishments. Yet, because of the disenfranchisement of the average Black man, she has lost respect for the average Black man, and far too often, she has to watch accomplished Black men transition to White women and other non-Black women. This is why it's been said that THE LONELIEST WOMAN ON EARTH is a SUCCESSFUL BLACK WOMAN. The latter could be the reason why Serena and Venus might have had to go to whichever White man is willing to love them for who they are (even if that includes the wealthier version of themselves.)

My next article will be on what I previously called the "Broken Black Boy (BBB)" Syndrome years ago, which has many links to this article as well.

WEALTH & CULTURE define a community. But without its own wealth, even the best things about the culture will be controlled by other groups. And this has been the case with Black talents. In short, due to the absence of Black investments in Black areas most top Black talents are either owned or controlled by Whites or non-Whites. Yet, we complain about our history being erased all while most of us are too lazy and lack so much love for ourselves and fellow Blacks that we transfer our wealth and attention elsewhere.

We are the worst racial discriminators because we discriminate against our own people and fail to be our brothers' keepers. HOW DARING IT IS OF US TO TALK ABOUT WHITE FOLKS, when they take care of their own. We are not worthy of doing so. We are HYPOCRITES until we change our TRIBAL and INFERIORITY-COMPLEX-DRIVEN WAYS.

In a nutshell, this is article is about Black wealth transfer stemming from Black inferiority complex issues and lack of Black self-love, rooted in colonialism and slavery, but modernly inexcusable, which has created a level of cognitive dissonance in the minds of far too many Blacks at all levels. The latter has induced a state of forever-victimhood even in the minds of Black billionaires who are successful in America. An understanding of the premises of my article should catalyze self-evaluation among Blacks of all walks of lives. However, some of us are incorrigible or at least lack some level of conscience but in any event have also become unconscionable. Thus, the hope is that the conscionable ones and the next generation will tackle this issue and our other inferiority-complex driven issues beyond our current state of cognitive dissonance. This is one of the primary reasons why I use my precious time to write such articles as an intellectual.
